RimWorld is a PC game by Tynan Sylvester. It's a sci-fi colony building game with a heavy slant towards storytelling. I recommend it highly! I started drawing some "very" fast comics (hence the quality) which received a warm welcome from the RimWorld Community, whom I owe many thanks for encouraging me as a cartoonist in general.
The game's storytelling and character building made it so ripe for comics that I couldn't help myself! These comics started when the game was still in Alpha, so some of the jokes no longer apply to the full release game. They'll remain on the site as a testament to where RimWorld has come from (and poke fun at some of the wonky mechanics However, I've found that the stories that come from RimWorld can be both hilarious and sad, which are two emotional responses I'm comfortable trying to evoke.)
I guess the bottom line is that if you play RimWorld, you will probably love these comics! If you don't, they might be a bit confusing...
NOTE: As of January 2020, these comics are no longer being updated. You may still read all 260+ of them at their archive site, www.rimworldcomics.com, however.
Dark Side of a Robotic Moon
I drew a sketch and it accidentally snowballed into a short-lived webtoon series. While I had fun making it at first, I ran into the problem of "I never wrote it fully" and quickly wrote myself into a corner and blew too much time on exposition on the parts I did have figured out. I knew I could either dive deep into the muck of a poorly written story that would sap my time or cut my losses. I did the second one, not without hesitation. Dark Side of a Robotic moon is unlikely to return or relaunch, though I hope to make stories in the same format again (and technically in the same universe).
One of my limitations to this comic was the stipulation that I make each page in only one day (with whatever free time I had, often not much). Thus the art style is a bit simpler, but pleasantly consistent.
You can read what I did make on webtoon, if you like, but I will caution you that there is no ending. Sorry.
